GPS Tracking for Dogs?
I’m looking for some general information about what GPS systems are available – and some specific information about which system would work best for my dog.
I own a Boxer. The dog is living in the country – which means street names and such are not always going to come into play (the dog’s position may be “200 ft into the woods).
Also, the dog is indoor/outdoor, so if the system depends on a collar, I’m worried about weather, humidity, moisture and such – how much does this effect the system?
Are there collar systems and chip system? And is there any clear advantage/problems to either?

I’ve never heard of GPS tracking systems. Microchips are for identification only. If the dog is picked up by the humane society, they can scan the chip, which has a number assigned to it. That number will pull up your contact information in the company’s database.

I’ve never heard of a gps chip they can implant but they do have the collar ones and they are coming much smaller these days than they used to. They are also waterproof.
