My 3 year old beagle/shepherd mix ran away about a week ago. We went looking everywhere but this is a rural desert so either she’s dead from thirst or eaten by coyote.
I check the dog pound website everyday for photos, she has a chip but it’s registered to another house/phone we no longer are at.
I regret not getting a doggy GPS for her cause I really miss her. She was so cute with one of her ears that droops like a beagle.
I just took my dog to the vet to get her shots and i realized this booklet ResQ a pet tracking system. I wanted to know if your pet has one if she had any symptoms, or just your thoughts on this product or if theres something better out there? I know the prices vary. But i am a little confused because the ones i was reading online were 0+ i go to my vet and there charging around so they are different i just dont understand what the difference it. Is a ResQ chip kind of a GPS in a dog you call the vet or who ever and type in a number and you can find where your dog is? kind of what they have in cell phones. Or would you have to wait for someone to pick the dog up an officer or any kind person and take the dog in which then you would have to wait for to happen. So is this a good thing to have or not? I just need some clarification is all.
thanks

i’m looking to get a gps for my car, but i can’t decide which to get. what is the difference between some of these really expensive models and the ones that are several hundred dollars cheaper? don’t they all just take you from point A to point B? i don’t need something that i can plug my ipod into, do my biology homework, or feed the dogs, i just need a decent gps that won’t get me lost.

My dogs got out sunday. I have not been able to sleep right, nor have i had an appette. one was a full breed 1yr old female german shepherd, and the other an 8 yr. old male shepherd mix. They dug a whole and got out, only thing is the male has returned within an hour all the previous times hes gotten out. this time they both have been missing for 3days. I had him tied up so he wouldnt dig, but he got out of his collar and left. anyway, the female has a microchip and i have read, and heard that there is some sort of tracking device that is somewhat like a gps for dogs that have a microchip. if so is this true, and where can i locate one of these places that does it. I asked at my local humane society and they said they didnt know anything about it. Can anyone please offer some valuable information on this? I have already scouted my entire city and have made 100+ flyers and have an ad coming out in this weeks paper….please help my find more info..thanks!

When our two Border Collie mixes are off together (their brothers and we pretend they are spies.
) they run off and we are DYING to know where they go every time. We wanna use a GPS that we have, strap i ton hit back pack, put it on Track so it shows a line of where you’ve gone, and then let ‘em run. BUT the (GPS is water proof) dogs run through water and lie down in it and I don’t want the Back Pack wet. I REALLY want a GPS where the one piece tracks and the other you can SEE where the GPS piece is. About 0 or so dollars available for spending right now. Can get more. Any ideas? (i don’t mind themm running off. We know how to handle it and we ive in the country so they can’t get hit by cars and stuff. It’s fine.) Thnkas a ton guys!!

Shelter DOgs Rule: They have NEVER had parisites. We’ve had them checked multiple times. They only every once in a while get ticks. And not all THAT often. We always have tick meds handy.
We are trying our BEST of our capability. Sometimes the collar will slip or the line will break. Mistakes happen. I thank you for your concern and I will try harder to keep an eye on them. last time they dissapeared was about….five months ago.

My 3 year old beagle/german shephard female doggy dug out of the yard with a help of a stray dog and has gone missing. Haven’t seen her in almost 2 days.
Drove around looking for her but she’s no where to be found. Also checked the dog pound 50 miles away but not there either.
I am really worried cause this is a rural desert with miles and miles of hot desert (freezing at night) and COYOTES. She weighs 40 pounds so I hope she can fight them off.
So what can I do in the meantime????????? I regret not getting the GPS for dogs then we could locate her.
